The Millville Army Air Field Museum’s Aerospace Resource Center will offer “Introduction to Aviation: Aviation through Model Aeronautics” for children ages 10 and older. Participants will learn the basic concepts of flight by building balsa gliders, then a rubber band model series as an introduction to power flight, and, in the final stage, build and fly engine-powered models. At completion of the course, each student learns how to fly control-line models, also called “U-control models.” The kids are now youth members of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
