NBAA will for the first time host a Build A Plane Teachers’ Day in conjunction with the annual Careers in Business Aviation Day at NBAA2013 in Las Vegas, NV. NBAA and Build A Plane, the non-profit aviation education organization, will present the Teacher’s Day workshop on Oct.24. Sponsored by Honeywell Aerospace, Teacher’s Day will introduce high school teachers to a variety of aviation education programs and opportunities. Full admission to NBAA2013 will be free to event attendees.
Attendees participating in Teachers’ Day can receive one graduate credit from Viterbo University. For more information, please contact Build A Plane at [email protected].
Curriculum Presentations
During Build A Plane Teachers’ Day, speakers will present materials from industry, government and aviation organizations to expose students to all aspects of aviation. These organizations include Honeywell, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Air and Space Museum, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Fly to Learn, Aviation Explorers and more. A wide variety of free, take-home materials also will be available for all teachers.
